Robos GmbH & Co.KG, located in Kornwestheim, has been producing high-quality labels of countless types for all industry sectors since 1960. Once again, this leading German company has chosen a solution from Prati to ensure an excellent combination of quality and ease-of-use to deliver premium booklet labels to its customers. A growing need for booklet labels, in particular from the pharmaceutical, agrochemical and food industries – is one of the issues faced by European printers and label producers. The space-saving solution enables companies to cram 20 pages of information into a tiny booklet, which requires precision and quality. Supported by Nilpeter GmbH, Prati distributors in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, Robos has opted for the VEGAplus BKL advanced offline booklet maker. This product offers clean processing, ease-of-use for multiple operators, fast setup requirements, and premium quality ensured by the accurate tension and register control. Furthermore, the patented lamination unit implements the correct curvature for the finished booklet, keeping the base label at full size. This will help Robos satisfy its customers in the pharma industry. Running at 60 m/m, the VEGAplus BKL installed at the Robos factory is handling a variety of needs, including the production of booklet labels with a width of 300 mm. The fast switchover times between jobs is improving overall productivity, as well. When working in conjunction with Saturn BKL, the VEGAplus BKL first produces the booklets and leaves the inspection, counting and finishing to the Saturn BKL, making the joint processing pair of machines a complete solution. “Shortly after installing the VEGAplus LF 330 BKL solution, Robos appreciated the performance and quality standards,” says Thorsten Saathoff of Nilpeter GmbH. “With a working width of up to 330 mm, and a maximum processing speed of 75 m/m, all current requirements were met and the customer was able to deliver first-class booklet labels, also thanks to Saturn BKL, Prati’s slitter/inspection rewinder fitted with inspection cameras and running together with the VEGAplus.”
